OVERVIEW :
This course will provide fundamental understanding of offshore pipeline systems and outlines design requirements of subsea pipeline systems based on “DNV Offshore Standard – Submarine pipeline systems DNV-OS-F101†as a highly recognized and widely used code in the subsea industry. Other DNV recommended practices such as “Free Spanning Pipelines DNV-F105†and “On-bottom Stability Design of Submarine Pipelines DNV-OS-F109†are also explained in the course.
Alternative internationally recognized design methods applicable to subsea pipeline design are briefly explained as well. The main issues for the design of offshore pipelines from route selection, to material selection, mechanical design (e.g. wall thickness selection, stability, local and global buckling, fatigue, and protection), installation and pre-commissioning are addressed in this training course. Also covered in this practical course are engineering methods for strain based design.
