DESCRIPTION
A generic course for Instrumentation tubing system designers, installers and maintainers/users in the Offshore and Petrochemical Industries to specifically cover the recommendations in the UKOOA Small Bore Tube and Fitting Management Guidelines recommendations for personnel competency standards. This incorporates both a theoretical and Practical Assessment.
OBJECTIVES
The course is recommended for personnel who are actively involved on a regular basis with Compression Fitting and associated Tubing, specification, installation, maintenance and assembly, in an offshore or onshore environment associated with Petrochemical/Exploration & Production industry.
COURSE SYLLABUS
To present a training course to encompass the safety aspects associated with Compression Fitting and associated Tubing, specification, selection, installation and maintenance, with emphasis on:
- General selection of Compression Fittings and Tubing products.
- Appreciation of Tubing Specification and design working pressure.
- Types of applications – Hydrocarbon, Hydraulic, General Service, Specialist Application.
- Types and Makes of Fittings (other than ‘Twin Ferrule Type’) and connections, including thread types and identification, selection of material for termination onto Tubing.
