DESCRIPTION
Basic HVAC training teaches you the fundamental principles and topics of HVAC (heating, ventilating and air conditioning) design. This type of training is particularly beneficial if you are new to HVAC systems or have not taken a fundamental basic training course on how HVAC systems work. Basic training stresses knowledge of how HVAC systems work, from heat transfer, mechanical refrigeration, load estimation, psychometrics and what makes it work. Through academic study and hands-on learning, basic HVAC training prepares you to understand HVAC systems for more advanced study and training.
BENEFITS
Benefits of basic HVAC training includes a solid foundation of how HVAC systems work so that repairing, installing and troubleshooting HVAC systems are easier to do. You feel more qualified and more proficient in problem-solving more complicated and difficult HVAC systems. Basic training also affords you the opportunity to learn the components of HVAC systems if you have never been exposed to such training before. It can be a beneficial way to get introduced to it and help you determine whether HVAC maintenance and installation is a viable career path for you.
OUTLINES
Topics include understanding of :
- HVAC design
- Principles of heat transfer
- Principles of heating and cooling loads
- Air cycles
- Zoning
- Pressure enthalpy
- Mechanical refrigeration
- Basic electrical wiring and components of HVAC systems including compressors, valves, metering devices, oil separators, accumulators and receivers.
