INTRODUCTION
Mechanical equipment in a plant can be divided into several types, among others:
- Static equipment: Pipelines, Storage tank, Pressure vessel, etc.
- Rotary equipment: Pump, Compressor, Turbine, etc.
- Material transfer equipment: cranes, forklifts, conveyors, etc.
- Energy conversion equipment: diesel engines, gasoline engines, boilers, machinery of air, etc.
Adequate knowledge of the fundamentals of mechanical equipment is the basic competencies for the technician or engineer working in a plant. By knowing the basic principles, then the technician or engineer can operate the equipment correctly and be able to compile a significant maintenance program.
