COURSE OUTLINE
- General procedures for failure analysis
- Engineering and metallurgical fundamental of failure and failure analysis
- Sources of failure and failure mechanisms (failure modes); ductile / brittle fracture, fatigue failures, wear / erosion failures, corrosion, creep, hydrogen damage failures, etc.
- Failures of various products of metals-working processes (casting, forging, weldments, etc)
- Failures of various industrial components (shafts, bearing, gears, fasteners, etc)
- Failures of various industrials equipment (boilers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, pipeline, lifting equipment, etc)
- Engineering and metallurgical fundamentals to prevent future failure
- Case histories of typical failures and their preventions
PARTICIPANTS
This course is primarily intended for people who are involved in engineering, fabrication, operation, inspection (QC/QA), reliability and maintenance of plant equipment.
